I've been going through the tents lately... every year for the last 6 years, I've bought a new tent.  Not because the tents had failed - it is because my family keeps growing in age and numbers.

I just started looking at tents available in the UK and see a totally different kind of tent over there which is not even an option over here!  Why?  Do a net search for "family tunnel tents" - even coleman makes them (for that market only)!

I like the Cygnus 12 person family camping tunnel tent so far and the modular tents like 1 Axis + 3 Zulu 13 person Combo tent.

Hi, Dan here.  I've been  hanging out here for a while and checking back here now and again.  I just saw this post and I think for once I can contribute something useful for once (picked up some great ideas here, guys, thanks!).  I bought the Sarengo 10 person tunnel tent from  http://online-familytents.com/  .  They've got the module tents Outdoor Dad mentioned to.  No shipping charge either.  Came fast and we were 7 on the trip.  We were really happy the the tent...although I was looking at that Tristar dome tent.  Wife wanted the Sarengo.

They look like they're overpriced with their outdated sleeve attachments  and fiberglass poles.  I've seen a lot better out there for less money.
