Hey all,

Not sure if anyone has to go a long way to camp, but if you do you might wanna bring some good tunes.  Don't always pick up the best stations in the boonies.  My friend and I listened to Last of the Good Guys by One Flew South, and I was totally shocked.  It was actually really good.  The album was pretty strong but probably the best song was My Kind of Beautiful.   They remind me of the Rascall Flats and Hootie & the Blowfish.  Take a listen and tell me what you  think.  http://uclassics.edgeboss.net/wmedia/uclassics/ofs/02_my_kind_of_beautiful-1.wax

Yep, camping in the mountains, the radio is iffy at best!  So I finally got my first small CD player - small enough to be packable for camping/hiking.  Since I grew up in the heady days of the 60's and 70's, I like the old Rock&Roll, and some Pop of that period.
Beachboys, Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Heart, and some Rockabilly too!  I even like the older classic Country, as Dad used to play it a lot.
I made up a bunch of 'Best Of ...' CD's for travelling and camping.  I also use light headphones, so as not to add 'noise pollution' to the wilds.

MP3 players my friends MP3 players.  Grin I've got one from Dell, of all places. The Cowon America, D2 4GB Multimedia Player. It plays every type of digital music AND digital video there is except for DVD and i-Pods AAC format. It's awesome! 45 or more hours of music storage, at least 50 hours of playback on one charge. About 8 - 10 for video. I love it. I can go camping with my own music collection and never hear the same song twice. (Unless I want to)  Wink And, oh yeah! It also has an FM radio built in. (Actually the main reason I got this one when I got rid of my i-Dud. Sorry, i-Pod.) It even has a text viewer. So you can download your favourite 1000 books in the .txt format and take them camping with you. (I do)  Smiley  (((Here's a strange one...A FM radio? or An FM radio?)))  Huh

Don't forget The Eagles and Meatloaf - great 'road music'!  "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" was excellent cruising the strip and Panama City Beach in my two-seater AMX in the 70's - great times!  Wish I still had that little car......

In the woods, I generally prefer old country, or lately the Celtic Lady singers, like Enya and Loreena McKennit.  Just seems to fit the woodland scene......

In my wilder daze, I liked the soundtracks to The Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey & The Bandit - Yeehaw!!
