We are in the mid-west and are eagerly awaiting spring.  The weather has finally started to turn and I am really getting the itch to get out the camper and get it ready.

I am looking at mid April to get out and do some camping if the weather is nice enough! Grin

My next camping trip will be early April, to the Okeefenokee Swamp area.  Got a new semi-mummy bag and bivytent to try out!   Smiley
A few of us are going to ride over there on our motorcycles for an 'overnighter'.  Maybe two nights, if I can get the first afternoon off from work.
I need some good 'stress relief'!   Grin

I went for the first time this year last weekend. Had to deal with rain Sat.am and was a bit cool Sat night but was most enjoyable anyway.

I wish I had more time to go camping.  I have to ask for time off from work a month in advance and that does not garrantee I will get it off.  People who have the weekends off are lucky.  If I had a job with Sat and Sun off  I would be camping every weekend.

I cleaned up an area for a new camp site today. A friend of mine has 50 acres, mostly woods. I am going to rake it and bring in a half 55 gallon drum tomarrow. I hope weather is good this weekend.

Well, I just couldn't stand the wait . . .

Last Friday I buzzed out to the local woods and camped overnight to test the new gear.  The mummybag is rated at 20 degrees - 'wishful thinking' methinks!  BUT . . . it got down into the high thirties - and I was toasty!  Best cheap bag I ever bought!   Wink

I'm ready for bigger and better things!   Smiley

Well, I am glad someone got to get out.  Where did you get the mummy bag?

Wally Mart - like I said - it's cheap!  But for my needs in sunny Florida, it's good.   Grin

We are planning for early April here down south as well... probably packing up the kayak and heading to Morris Island, a small island just a 3 mile kayak paddle from our boat landing. Now i just have to start getting the camping equipment out of storage and clean the kayak off.

Looking forward to my first trip in a couple of weeks down to Sardis in Mississippi.  We've had lousy weather here all spring so far, but I'm going no matter what.  Got to get out.

Well, with the summer now in full swing, camping here in Florida is a bit "buggy".  I try to get out and camp several times a year.  Currently, I'm planning my next trip to Alexander Springs in Ocala National Forest.  It'll probably be mid October.  Needless to say, the springs in Ocala are probably some of the nicest in the nation.

Stay outside everyone!
