HI, I'm trying to build a database of campgrounds. I have several already up on www.campwiki.net, but they're mainly for the California area were I live. If you have any spots you enjoy, I would appreciate it if you would add them to the collection so we can all benefit from it.  There's also some really good campfire stories on the site too.

The site is supposed to be like a wikipedia for campers, and those into Scouting. I used to be a Assistant Scoutmaster years ago, and a site like this would have been a great help in planning.

One of the place that I like to camp is Yosimite.  The scenery is very nice and people are very friendly there.

The Smokey Mountains is excellent. There's all kinds of camping available from really roughing-it to RV communities.

I love the looking glass falls area of the Blue Ridge Pkwy, Ashville NC and Mt Pisgah Camping. Great beautiful mountain camping experiences... for beach camping, though not campgrounds, but you are allowed to set up your own campsite I love Morris Island- Located Charleston, SC... absolutely gorgeous... and there are all times of sharks teeth, a retired lighthouse and amazing palms lining the coast.

If you need any more help feel free to email me or post on: www.blog.thecampingequipmentstore.com

The Smokies are great. Beautiful place. In the midwest, I like camping at Kickapoo park in central Illinois. They have great mountain bike and hiking trails. You can also fish and even scuba dive there. The park also rents out canoes with a shuttle service. In Indiana, I like to camp at Potato Creek. They have biking and hiking trails; bike and boat rentals; and allow fishing and swimming.

Oak Mountain Campground near Birmingham, Alabama is a nice larger State Campground.  It tends to get busy in summer, has a river with swimming/canoeing, walking trails, and the RV and tent areas are separated.

There is another State Campground in Auburn, Alabama the name of which escapes me.  It is smaller and more secluded, with several individual groups of campsites spaced through the woods.  Very nice off-season!

Both are clean and well-kept.

In Oregon, I like Tillamook State Forest for free, primitive camping. If I go to a campground, I like Jone's Creek campground on the Wilson River trail. The other one off the beaten path is Trask River County park. It's waaaay out there. I'll be trying Big Eddy campground this year.
