I personally have never been there. A group of my friends go there every year to snow mobile, but I don't think they camp. Your post made me want to go check out Yellowstone website:

There is information there on the campgrounds.

Lou Amour has put Yellowstone on the world map. I knew about it before I went to the states. Have you read any of his western novels?

I have never been there but I have had some friends and seen some amazing pictures from them... it does look like a truly amazing place and definitely on my top list of places to go! As an East Coast girl, I have heard its a different world out there. If you go please post how it was.

Hi i have been to Yellowstone NP on several occasions, it is a nice place to visit, matter of fact my wife wants to go there, so we are taking a trip up there this summer. If you go during any time of the year that is it nice make sure to make reservations ahead of time. If not you might find yourself outside the park and quite some distance away. The Park is a great place to visit like i said, There are nice drives all around the park and you are GUARANTEED to see all kinds of wild life and bears. Old faithful is a sight and the mineral pools of boiling hot water are unique. They also have the bubbling grey mud pools which are pretty neat in themselves. The best sight in Yellowstone which i think is played down and not given nearly enough credit is "Yellowstone Falls" it is truly amazing. once you see the this water fall...it is just awesome. If you do go to Yellowstone remember that the Grand Tetons NP is just south of Yellowstone, that in itself is another sight to see. and worth the 45-60min drive. While in Yellowstone bring some cash because that has to be the most expensive NP i have ever been to.

Been to Yellowstone a few times. Nice hiking areas, but since this is bear territory, you really need to check first with the Visitors' Information Center before heading out here if there is a particular trail that you'd want to try out because many of these trails are closed for much of the year because of the presence of the bears. That being said, always make sure to use the bear lockers in the campgrounds to store your food and dispose of your trash properly. You wouldn't want any unwanted visitors, if you know what I mean.
