Is  anyone else putoff by hunting season. I'm a hunter myself, but even I'm alittle fustrated that I can't just head out into the woods to camp during hunting season. I would go to Ocala National Forest in Florida to camp, but the woods and roads into it are lined up with hunters. There are some designated sites. But so much for solitude and peace and quiet. Also I couldn't rest if I heard a gunshot nearby, I'd want to go see what size  deer someone just bagged. I can't wait to get home and go hunting, I mean camping. OH heck I need to do both. I hate this truck

Got kin and friends who own sizable farms every two years or so I'll get me a Whitetail, Turkey or brace of Cottontails. These folk often give me wild game as well, so much, sometimes I have to turn it down.

Use an old Browning Nomad Bow sometimes.

Yep, our hunting season ends in early February, so camping in the ANF woods isn't allowed - but I sometimes still 'stealth camp' there anyway - once I am in the trees, I am invisible.  Bubba pretty much sticks to the roads or very close.  He don't like to walk far.   Grin
We held a big motorcycle meet and camp on the local river at a nice 'fishcamp' - had a few fishermen launching boats, but no huntin' bubbas!  During this time, the usually empty 'hunt camps' are packed.  Best avoided.

I hunt too - Bambi has NOT co-operated this year though - been skunked all three times I've been out.  May try again this weekend.
