just curious.

my folks use a RV to camp with, but there almost 80+ so,

i like semi roughing it, tent, or make a lean too and set up camp in a rather secluded area. what about you fellow campers?

Well, I am late coming to this, and missed the vote.  I tent camp, often alone.   I tend towards the minimalist side of things.  Generally I motorcycle camp, my dual sport bike getting me well into the woods where even a 4X4 can't go - so space and weight are at a premium.  I can carry more than a hiker but not as much as a car-camper.

Thats something I would like to do. Buy an Enduro and tour America's National Parks and camp where ever the Enduro can get me. I might have to cut back on some camping gear to fit on the bike. But, how  much gear do I actualy need anyway. A bivy and a bedroll, some spare cloths, canteen and water filter. And most important, a .22 for hunting rabbit and squirrel. Colt makes a nifty breakdown .22 survival rifle that should fit in a panier bag ( out of site of LE and the general public ).

I like to camp as a semi-minimalist in cold weather.  I like the peace and tranquility of not having a lot of people around.  I also like to hunt.  I'm thinking about getting into base-camping with a canvas tent that's heated for long hunting expeditions, but that gets expensive.  I also love the thought of being a genuine minimalist.  I'd like to build a simple lean to, gather bows for insulation, and try to survive in nature during cold weather; but you have to take that sort of thing extremely serious.  We can't all be like Bear Grills and have experts advising us in the field.

I mostly camp in and around state parks, always tent camping.  I try to be a minimalist, but always end up bringing my tent, a canopy, stove, lanterns, etc.  I really only camp during late spring through early fall months.  I would like to get into a little more extreme camping if I could find the time.
