Hello, I agree the car fridge is a very useful bit of gear and we have used friends' fridges at times. However, we personally don't use one and with a bit of preparation a fridge is not absolutely required. See http://mycampgear.com/2009/03/22/how-camp-without-fridge-or-esky for our tips.
