Hello, i just found yoursite, lots of good info.  i'm looking to buy one of two tents and would like some opinions.  Tent one is the Columbia Timber Butte and the other is the Eureka Copper Canyon.  I'm looking for a family tent at a good price to see if the rest of the family will enjoy going.  Camping in the mid west so rain, wind, heat are issues to deal with.  Any info on those two would be great.

Thanks!

I like the Eureka tent... I have it and am very pleased. For a great price this is where I got mine at: The camping equipment store: http://www.thecampingequipmentstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=69
I like the floor space, I have camp with 3 others normally and we're comfortable in this tent, actually room to move and sleep!

I am considering the Eureka Copper Canyon.  One thing is unclear.  Do the windows in the screen room zip shut?

the copper canyon is a good tent, all around well made, I have seen it up. It has good head space and is well made. However, the camping equipment company "check out their site" make very good, and very large tents. Much bigger than the copper canyon. Go look for yourself and see if it meets your budget. The reason you do not hear about some other great tents is just advertising. The CEC, camping equipment company, is about the same price range, but I think some of their tents are bigger than the eureka. I do not work for that company or anything, just like what I have seen. Also, check out ebay for CEC or Eureka tents, there is a huge price jump at camping stores.

My wife and I just opened a Camping gear store that has over 100 pages of tents to choose from at:

http://campinghikingshop.info/

Lots of nice Gear and Gps stuff there as well!

We also just started a blog you can visit at:

tree hugger, I looked at you site, can I suggest that you make categories to within each topic. Maybe by brand, price, etc. It makes looking alot easier.

Try kmart, they just released their new northwest territory tent, the Olympic cottage, 16 by 12 feet, its about $200. I have the 16 by 14 vacation cottage and I love it.

How about Eureka Blue Mesa 1610?  Has anyone used it before?  It seems like it's a pretty good tent.

I have seen the Olympic Cottage Northwest Territory tent from Kmart up and it was pretty cool. Looks like a little homey cabin in the woods and it had plenty of room. I'm 6'4 and it had plenty of head room all around for me, which I like.

If you're really focused on Eureka tents, have you checked out their 1310? It sleeps several people and is tall enough to stand in.

I agree with mrman and mike 1959, Kmart has a great line of tents for the price.  They have about three "cabin style" tents that look to be great for a small or large family.
