first off, thank you for any feedback.
and to know my situation, you need to know im a college student (low budget) and with certain limited resources.
something i do have at great value is flying free to anywhere Continental airlines commutes to)

if you've seen the movie Into the wild where the guy travels across country basically with nothing. camping and living off the wilderness. Thats what im thinking of doing, only to a smaller scale. ie. spring break, summer-- when i dont have classes.

i would be looking at traveling just by backpack and finding primative locations. i dont know where to start as far as finding location and deciding gear.
i was thinking colorado rockies. fly fishing rod and having canned goods for emergency.

i know this is pretty general so any imput on this is greatly apreciated.

Hi Brave !  You may want to check out CouchSurfing website as there you will be able to find someone who will let you stay in their home w/o charging money for it, and also you will be making friends in the process.

Good luck with the great adventure you are planing.

Just be careful... and if you've seen the movie you know the importance of knowing what you're doing. Read up and make sure you pack enough food and water for yourself! for great camping equipment I recommend http://www.thecampingequipmentstore.com and they are having a big sale right now on all camping gear and products.
