I've been wondering how the upsurge in fuel prices is affecting the RV owners. A buddy at work was thinking of replacing his old pop-up trailer with a medium-sized RV, as he travel/camps every few months. But the estimated cost of driving one from FLorida to Maryland/PA made him rethink it.
Now, diesel is running considerably higher than regular gas - does it offset the better mileage of a diesel rig?
I had thought of making my next truck a diesel for the better mileage too, but it may be best to stick with gasoline.
Any comments?

Definitely the fuel prices have been really a pain for RV owners. Personally, it's been working out quite well. It gives me a reason to encourage my family to do some tent camping just the way how I used to before we got our Motorhome. Not only is it helping us with the rising fuel prices, but it's also given my kids a whole new appreciation on camping.
As for the mileage, yes, diesel rigs definitely outrun gas ones. The problem comes during the maintenance. My brother would often rant to me on how much he spends on parts and maintenance services each year, which is definitely higher and sometimes more frequent than I do on our gas runned MH.
