Hi everyone, my names Steve. This is my first post on camping chatter, normally I tent to stick with the main camping forums within Australia, but I thought I'd branch out a little further a field to see if I can pick up a few more tricks.

Love to get out as much as possible, not always possible but we get out as much as possible. Luckily here in Aus, there's no shortage of camping spots.

Before our daughter came onto the scene, the wife and I were happy to rough it in our tent, but now the little one comes along, we updated our means of accomodation with a Camper Trailer I put together over 12 months. Keeps the nasties out and a few mod cons thrown in as well.

Have just come back from a 2 week trip from the middle of Australia where we cooked ourselves within an inch of our lives. Warmest day was 44 deg C (111 deg F).

Nice to have found an international camping community, hoping to find a few tricks and may even shed some of my own  Wink

Howdy Steve!

Welcome to the forums!  Can I just say your camping trailer is the COOLEST!!  When I first read that I thought you meant like an RV or pop-up trailer, but I see that it is more like a super tent!  Im excited to hear more about your outback adventures!

Mighty comfy, cozy rig ye have there, Steve!  A Wall tent mounted on a trailer!  A Dream!

How long do it take to pitch?

I migrated to Australia, from Arizona, back in 1968 . . . . got as far as Buena Park, Californy
fore beginning to miss Arizona, though . . . . so I came back home.  Been here ever since.

Sure would have liked to explore yer Great Nation but I ain't yet quite done  with Arizona yet!

Hey there Kingnormie, tent takes about 30min to errect.
Only problem I have is if we have to pack up in the rain, it's a b*%$# to dry out in a garage !
I grew up in the drier parts of Australia, what many refer to the 'outback', so I would probably enjoy Arizona, from the little I have seen it can be DRY there too.
