Hello
I've just begun to plan a week long trip to Buffalo River in October and I'm really beginning to look at Arkansas with a new prespective. I origanaly planned my trip to Big Bend, Texas and then decided to first do a bit easier trip because I couldn't bring myself to pay just under a grand for a guided tour. At first I was hesitant in taking a suggestion to look into the Ozarks in Arkansas but then decided to take it on to maybe gain a little experience for a summer trip to the Rio Grand or maybe even the Colorado river. I would like to know if I'm foolish to think that a trip in the Ozarks would be ok to train for some Kayaking in the Desert. I'm 17 years old I live in Nebraska and I love back-country adventures. Someday in fact I hope to be a Outdoor guide living in Moab, So a unguided float would be ideal. Would it be a good idea to go head and plan a float with a peer for the last week of October, or should i look else were? And if it is a good idea what do you suggest I plan?

THANKS!
Zach
PS I really do NOT want to spend my time paying for the reservations for a campsite full of tourist

, but if the regulations say I need to I will. Is it possible to plan a float that would not require me to camp in the designated camp sites.
